Each year, the MSA commissions the creation of a unique piece of art, celebrating the Festival and the Art of Songwriting. The art is then raffled off and drawn at our Christmas event at the Mary C. O'Keefe Cultural Center. All proceeds benefit the charitable and educational projects sponsored throughout the year.

About the Artist & the Work
Vicki Miller is a longtime friend of the MSA, and an accomplished artist, whose works have been tapped by the Ohr-O'Keefe Museum of Art, the Mississippi Coast Coliseum, the Palace Casino, Toast to the Coast as well as clients in Atlanta and other parts of the Southern Region. Her works are sold exclusively through Ocean Springs Marketplace.
She chose to represent the Festival by painting a no-longer-loved rocker she found. Its slightly worn edges and soft creaks when rocked, reminded her of long days of "porch sittin'" and playing her own guitar with her brothers.
The back of the rocker represents the waters of the Coastline - her beloved home. The songbird is a nod to her brother Tim, who passed away. Tim Raymond was a well known musician on the Coast for more than 30 years.
The sides of the arms and the rockers are hand lettered with her own expressions of how she feels about music:
"Music is what feelings sound like"
"Behind every great song is an untold story"
"Songwriting takes courage"
