Shawna P


During her 12 years in Nashville, Tn, beginning in 1996, Shawna P secured a publishing deal with the now defunct Highland Music Publishing Group and spent 4 years working with the Muzik Mafia Collective. Shawna also wrote and recorded the duet “Looking for Me” with the legendary Michael McDonald,who has heralded her as one of his favorite singers. She has shared the stage with Kid Rock, Big & Rich, Gretchen Wilson, James Otto, Charlie Daniels and Donnie Van Zant to name a few. 

In 2007, Shawna moved back to her hometown of Muscle Shoals, Al to finish recording her debut album, “EarthFunk Muzik”. She was awarded with “Female Vocalist of The Year” at The Muscle Shoals Music Awards 2008. After moving to the Gulf Coast in 2011, Shawna was invited to Memphis, Tn for a private audition for NBC’s hit television show “The Voice”. She received a callback to Hollywood and to her surprise, she made it to the top 32 of 50,000 hopefuls and secured a spot on Team Shakira on Season 4, the first Emmy Award winning season of “The Voice”. Since her appearance on the show in 2013, Shawna P has been writing for her new album, touring to promote her current album, and recently started her own new company, “Vocal Therapy with Shawna P”. She is excited to be coaching up and coming singers who wish to follow in her footsteps as an artist and possible contestant on one of the various prime time reality singing competitions. This will be her third year performing at The Mississippi Songwriter’s Festival and she will be joined this year by Curtis Lance, who penned Kenny Chesney’s #1 song, “ Don’t Happen Twice”. They both perform their own original material and back each other up for a magical “ don’t miss” performance.
